A beautiful French First Empire clock by Lesieur ca. 1805 in red campan griotte marble (solid) and engine-turned and engraved numeral (unusual) dial.  Figure of the goddess of the seasons (ete, hiver, printemps, automne (summer, winter, spring, fall) in matte gilded solid bronze beautifully cast and chiselled.  Intricate figures of leaves and infants celebrating life and death on the base; the goddess's crown inscribed with the seasons.  First quality French First Empire clock, time of Napoleon.
